Las Cruces Projects
Elks Road
Open to through traffic.
Hoagland Road
Construction delayed for material shipments.
Oleta Drive
Open to through traffic.
Organ Avenue
At Solano Drive will be closed to through traffic. Detours will be in effect. Motorists should seek alternate routes if available and should proceed with caution.
Solano Drive
From May Avenue to Las Cruces Avenue will have lane closures for north bound traffic. Access will be maintained. Lane closure will be taken down at the end of the work day to keep both lanes open during non-working hours. Motorists should seek alternate routes if available and should proceed with caution.
Sonoma Ranch Boulevard
Sonoma Ranch Boulevard from Fire Mountain to Northrise Drive and Golf Club to Mission Nuevo is open to through traffic. Lane Closures and detour routes will be in effect. Access to residents will be maintained. Motorists should seek alternate routes.
Stern Drive
Broadmoor Drive will have shoulder work. Access to residents will be maintained. Motorists should seek alternate routes if available.
Stull Drive
From Ralph Drive to Magnolia Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained. Motorists should seek alternate routes if available.
Village Drive
From Porter Road to Century Lane will be closed to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained. Motorists should seek alternate routes if available.
Varios Roadways within the city limits of Las Cruces
Kansas Avenue, Colorado Avenue, Lees Drive, Arizona Avenue, Maple Street, New Mexico Avenue, Mimbres Court, Lester Avenue, Laurel Street, Joy Lane, Klein Avenue, Locust Street, California Avenue, Luna Street, Bellemah Drive, Calle De Suenos, La Fonda Drive, Andrews Drive, Pecos Street, Boutz Road, Montana Avenue, Calle Feliz, Foster Road, and Chaparro Street will have temporary shoulder work. Access to residents and business will be maintained. Motorists should seek alternate routes if available and should proceed with caution.
Sonoma Ranch Boulevard
From Lohman Avenue to Foothills Road will have lane closures and a temporary detour route will be in effect. Access to residents and the landfill will be maintained. Motorists should seek alternate routes if possible.
17th Street
From Amador Avenue to Picacho Drive will be closed to through traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists should seek alternate routes if available.
Copper Loop
At 17th Street will have potential lane closures due to shoulder work. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists should seek alternate routes if available.
University Avenue I-25
The NMDOT and local Law Enforcement would like to remind motorist to use caution during peak hours as they travel south on I-25 and approach University Avenue. Traffic tends to back up at times and ask that you use caution, please plan your travel time appropriately.

For information regarding closures you may WSMR at 678-1178 or 678-2222 for updates. Alerts will be present on the digital message board off US-70 east bound within the Las Cruces area.
I-25 T or C, NM
A.S. Horner will be performing bridge maintenance on the main line bridges between the exits 75 and 79. Traffic control will consist of interstate one lane closures with 14 ft width restrictions and a 55 MHP speed reduction.
I-25 T or C, NM
The NMDOT will be performing roadway maintenance from mile posts 63-83 in both directions, with operations migrating onto NM-195 from mile posts 0-2.1. Traffic control will be established with flaggers. The department reminds motorists to exercise extreme caution with crew members and heavy equipment moving in and out of traffic.
US-180 Silver City Area
A.S. Horner, Contractor to the NMDOT is currently working on the south end of US-180. They are removing asphalt and cutting down to sub-grade from Swan Street to Pinos Altos. Traffic has been shifted from the east bound lanes to west bound lanes fro Swan Street to Pinos Altos. Speed limit is reduced to 25 MPH and speed is posted through the rest of the project as 35 MPH. Please remember that double fines are in affect through the work zone site.
NM-292 Sunland Park, NM
Cutler will be performing maintenance operations on NM-292 in the Sunland Park area where the traffic will be reduced to one lane and your speed limit will be posted at 35 MPH. Working hours will be from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday.
NM-478 Anthony, NM
The New Mexico Department of Transportation will be reconstructing
NM 460 (Anthony) between the Texas State Line and mile posts 2.0. Detours and lane closures are in place. Access is available to NM-478 from north bound NM 460 off of NM 404. Speed limit through the detours is 25 MPH with an 11’ width restriction. Use caution while driving through the work zone. Delays should be minimal.
NM-26 Deming Area
The NMDOT will be working with Fisher Construction on the roadway rehabilitation from mile post 0.0 to 25.7. Currently the contractor is working on the bridge as the project progresses. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with an escort car assisting with traffic control. Please expect minimal delays.
NM-1 Socorro Area
The NMDOT will be conducting maintenance operations from mile post 29 traveling northbound. Motorists will experience lane drops and reduction in speed. Use caution as you travel near and around the heavy equipment.
FR-1009 Lordsburg Area
The NMDOT will be working on milling and overlay from mile posts 0 to 0.2. Work will be in front of Flying J Truck Stop until June 13. Motorists may encounter one lane drops and reduction in speed.
FR-1035 Strern Dr-Vado, NM
Smitco contractor for NMDOT will be installing a water line on south end of Stern towards Vado, NM. Motorists may encounter one lane drops and reduction in speed. Please slow down and watch for traffic control as workers conduct business near the roadway.
Doniphan Drive
Nortex be conducting concrete pavement on Doniphan/BNSF railway east of Sunland Park Drive. The north bound driving lane may experience closures; traffic for motorist traveling north bound will be diverted through a one lane passage in order to allow traffic to flow around the project.
