Veterans Memorial Wall

The Veterans Memorial Wall, located in the Las Cruces Veterans Memorial Park at 2651 Roadrunner Parkway, was dedicated on November 11, 2005 to all who served their country honorably, regardless of home of record or period of service. All veterans are represented by 8,188 names of veterans who entered the armed services of the United States from Doña Ana County and who served during a major war or conflict from the Civil War through Operation Enduring Freedom.

If you or a friend or relative meet the criteria please send discharge papers or a copy of the Form DD-214 to: Veterans Memorial Wall Committee, P.O. Box 817, Las Cruces, NM 88004. Names of Veterans of the current wars (Afghanistan & Iraq) who entered the service from Doña Ana County are on temporary plaques and will be replaced with permanent plaques in 2015.

Eligibility Dates for Each War

  • Civil War - 1861 to 1865
  • Spanish American War - 1898
  • World War I - April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918
  • World War II - December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946
  • Korean War - June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955
  • Vietnam War - February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975
  • Persian Gulf War - August 2, 1990 - July 31, 1991
  • Operation Enduring Freedom - September 11, 2001 – present
