Garrison Flag to Fly Twice this Weekend 2018

The City of Las Cruces garrison flag will be flown from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Veterans Memorial Park, on Roadrunner Parkway.

The flag will be flown at half-staff on Sunday, October 7, 2018, in observance of Fire Fighters Memorial Day. After the flag raising, a brief ceremony will be conducted to honor fire fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The garrison flag will also fly Monday, October 8, in observance of Columbus Day. No formal ceremonies are planned.

The garrison flag is flown on traditional and patriotic holidays. The public is always invited to help veterans raise and lower the flag.

For information on dates when the garrison flag is scheduled to fly, call James Turner, at the New Mexico Department of Veteran Services, at 575/524-6220.
