“Birds in Art” Exhibit Opens at Las Cruces Museum of Art 2018

“Birds in Art,” a traveling exhibit from the Lee Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, in Wausau, Wisconsin, will be on display at the Las Cruces Museum of Art, 491 N. Main St., from Tuesday, November 20, 2018 through Saturday, January 12, 2019.

Innovative artistic approaches and intriguing mediums – from bronze, wood, and Montana dendritic steatite to watercolor, oil, pyrography, and solar etching – convey the character, essence, and surroundings of birds. The annual “Birds in Art” exhibition features dynamic and contemplative interpretations of avian marvels via original paintings, sculptures, and graphics created within the last three years.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday. For information, visit the City’s Museum System website or call 575/541-2137
