New Airport Administrator Named 2018

City Manager Stuart C. Ed announced today the selection of Andy Hume as the new airport administrator at Las Cruces International Airport. He has been serving as acting administrator intermittently for the past eight months.

Hume is a certified planner, has a master’s degree in public administration and has been with the City of Las Cruces for 17 years. Prior to his acting position, Hume was the City’s downtown coordinator for five years. He also served as planner with the Mesilla Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization and senior planner in planning and neighborhood services in the community development department. He is currently with the economic development department that oversees the airport.

In making the announcement, Ed said, “Andy has been a consistent high-performer within our organization since 2001. He has the institutional knowledge to navigate through the City’s infrastructure and ensure that the airport’s needs are met. In the short time Andy has been at the airport as acting administrator, we have seen positive results with his ability to solve problems and improve the airport.”
