Valve Exercising Activities May 23 – 26, 2017
Residents and businesses in the area near Main Street and Farney Lane east to El Paseo, south to University and back west to Main street may experience low water pressure, no water, or discolored water from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from Tuesday, May 23– Friday May 26.
The City of Las Cruces, Water Section will be exercising valves in the area. This work is being done in preparation of water tie-ins being completed by Mans Construction already in the area rehabbing the water system.
Area residents may notice discolored water due to iron and manganese. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush outside and/or cold water faucets in the house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the Water Section 526-0500.
