City Manager Ed to Serve on Statewide Board 2017

City Manager Stuart C. Ed has been nominated to serve as a board member of the New Mexico City Management Association (NMCMA). Ed’s nomination came during the New Mexico Municipal League’s 60th annual conference held this week in Clovis.

“I am deeply honored and humbled by this nomination. I very much look forward to serving as an active participant on the board to help improve the quality of services municipalities provide statewide, and incorporating best practices from other communities into City operations in Las Cruces,” Ed said.

“Given that Stuart is a first-time city manager, on the job for less than a year, this is extremely impressive,” Mayor Ken Miyagishima said. “Stuart has a wealth of experience in city government and will certainly be an important and influential contributor to this board.

”Ed’s nomination will be confirmed by the association's membership of city managers at the end of the month.

The NMCMA is dedicated to providing effective and democratic local government through sound principled leadership, and to affirm the dignity and worth of services rendered by their city through maintaining a constructive, creative and practical attitude toward local government affairs with a deep sense of social responsibility as a trusted public servant.
