West Area Command

The Las Cruces Police Department's West Area Command patrols the city's geographical area west of Interstate 25 and incorporates approximately 39.5 square miles and a population of 57,275. The West Area Command includes the Mesquite and Alameda historic districts, Downtown Las Cruces and the industrial park near the Las Cruces International Airport.

The West Area Command oversees the Las Cruces Police Department's School Resource Officers who, in cooperation with the Las Cruces Public Schools, patrol area high schools and middle schools.

The West Area Command is overseen by Deputy Chief Justin Dunivan and Commander Rebecca Kinney.
