Deputy Chief Miguel Dominguez

Deputy Chief Miguel Dominguez has proudly served with Las Cruces Police Department for nearly 15 years. Throughout his career, he has been a strong proponent of Community Based Policing and is committed to partnership-building with the citizens of Las Cruces.

He has held multiple positions and ranks throughout the organization including patrol officer, field training officer and is a certified departmental instructor. He was selected as Officer of the Year in 2009. He has served as committee chair for the commendation board and played a significant role in managing the department's fleet.

He has completed many advanced training courses in operations, leadership and supervision. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2010 and was assigned to the Patrol Division in the West Area Command. He served as a patrol lieutenant in the West Area Command as well as Special Services which included the K-9, Gang, CIT, and Targeting Neighborhood Threats units. He was promoted to the position of commander in 2015 where he tasked with heading the West Area Command.

In his current assignment as Deputy Chief of Operations Division he oversees the department's Patrol Section, Special Services Section, and Codes Enforcement and Animal Control.
