Welcome to the City of Las Cruces Online Permitting!

The City of Las Cruces is pleased to offer our citizens, businesses, and visitors access to online permitting services, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you have any questions, our staff is available Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to assist you and can be reached at (575)528-3059. If you prefer to visit us in person our office is located at 700 N. Main St., Suite 1100, Las Cruces, NM 88001.

Permits Available Online

Permits currently available online are listed below. Additional permit types will be available at a later date. If not listed below, please contact Community Development Staff for assistance.

  • Residential New/Addition/Alteration (1 and 2 family dwelling units)

  • Commercial New/Addition/Alteration (excludes multi-family residential)

  • Commercial and Residential Re-roofs

  • Commercial and Residential Electrical/Plumbing/Mechanical

  • Sign Permits Permanent/Temporary

All submitted documents must be in .pdf format. Pictures maybe in either .pdf or .jpg format.

Plans which are only available in paper form should be scanned at a resolution of 300 dpi minimum.

Help keys are available thru out the citizen portal to help answer questions related to information required for a field.

Homeowner/ Non-Licensed Professional

Review the “Home Owners Acknowledgement Form”, this is required to be included with your submittal when applying for residential construction projects (excluding plumbing, mechanical and electrical permits) when the owner is the permittee/contractor.

State Licensed Professional (Contractor)

To obtain a permit online, a contractor is required to have a valid contractor’s licenses issued by the State of New Mexico/Construction Industries Division (CID).
