The City of Las Cruces administration routinely provides presentations to members of City Council during work sessions and regular City Council meetings. These presentations provide a wealth of information that helps the City Council make decisions on complicated issues. The City Council has three primary areas of responsibility – employing and evaluating the city manager, approving ordinances and the rules that govern how the City works, and approving the annual budget. The budget for 2015-2016 is more than $320 million. To prepare and inform the City Council for this year’s budget cycle, administration prepared the 2015-16 Proposed Capital Improvement Plan 4-13-15 and the 2015-16 Proposed Budget Presentation 4-13-15.
Members of the City Council attend national, regional, state and local conferences as part of their job and professional development. They also represent the City of Las Cruces on special boards and committees. Often, they will provide a presentation on their activities as a report back to the council and the community.
