Food is a universal language linked to the culture and history of the place where it was developed. Explore the origins of foods from other continents, and the food you eat today. Note: this camp will provide items for tasting. Please disclose any food allergies at registration or discuss privately with staff before camp.

    Dig up the past and become a junior paleontologist. Take a walk through the Age of Dinosaurs and discover which creatures roamed the earth during the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous Periods. Go back even further in time to explore the Permian Trackways just outside Las Cruces and meet the local paleontologists who study them.

  1. Tai Chi Chuan

    Tai Chi Chuan is taught as a form comprised of a series of slow movements flowing from one to the next. Tai Chi was created to improve health, meditation and self-defense. The movements are done slowly and calmly. The emphasis is on relaxation, correct posture, and the efficient use of muscles. Studies have shown that Tai Chi can help lower blood pressure, and improve balance, coordination, and flexibility. It teaches stress management and basic self-defense and conflict management skills.
