Regulatory and Environmental Services
Provides technical services to the Utilities Department and the Joint Superfund Project. Section staff advise and assist the utilities director and section administrators in environmental management and regulatory compliance with laws, regulations, and programs at the federal, state and local levels. The Water Quality Laboratory and Industrial Pollution Prevention operations are located in this section. The section presently manages four major program areas:
- Regulatory compliance
- Environmental programs and projects
- Laboratory services
- Pollution prevention
The Pollution prevention team includes backflow prevention, grease interceptor, and industrial pretreatment programs.
