The Las Cruces City Council will conduct a closed meeting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020 in Administrative Conference Room #3608 at City Hall, 700 N. Main St.
The purpose of the closed meeting is:
- To discuss pending litigation related to City of Las Cruces et al. vs. United States of America et al., Case No 2:17-cv-00809-JCH-GBW, which is closed pursuant to NMSA 1978, Section 10-15-H(7).
The Las Cruces City Council will conduct a regularly scheduled meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020 in Council Chambers at City Hall, 700 N. Main St.
The meeting will be televised live at 1 p.m. Tuesday on CLC-TV, Comcast Cable channel 20. The meeting will be webcast live through the “View Event” link here. Live streaming of the meeting will also be available on the City’s Facebook page.

Resolution No. 20-092: A resolution approving a waiver of the church or school distance restriction for the issuance of a restaurant Beer and Wine liquor license to Zeffiro’s Pizzeria Downtown LLC doing business as Zeffiro’s Pizzeria Downtown, 136 N. Water St.
Before consideration of Resolution No. 20-093, a public hearing must be conducted.
Resolution No. 20-093: A resolution approving the issuance of a Restaurant Beer and Wine liquor license to Zeffiro’s Pizzeria Downtown, at 136 N. Water St.
Before consideration of Resolution No. 20-094, a public hearing must be conducted.
Resolution No. 20-094: A resolution approving the issuance of a Restaurant Beer and Wine liquor license, with on-premises consumption only with patio service, to Heritage Hotels & Resorts, Inc. doing business as Hilton Garden Inn, at 2550 Don Roser Drive.
An item on the Consent Agenda includes:
Council Bill No. 20-018; Ordinance No. 2910: An ordinance amending the Las Cruces Municipal Code by adding a new Chapter 2, Article IV, Division 9, Section 2-1106 Et Seq. Entitled “Policy Review Committee (PRC) Ordinance” and establishing the Economic Development PRC.
A Notice of Proposed Ordinance will be brought before the Council for a first reading. No council action regarding the proposed ordinance will be taken, other than to bring it forward to the Feb. 3, 2020 regularly scheduled Council meeting. The proposed ordinance is:
Council Bill No. 20-019; Ordinance No. 2911: An ordinance supporting investment of $75,000 in an Economic Development project in accord with the City of Las Cruces Local Economic Development Plan, authorizing an economic development project participation agreement between the City and Big Tuna, USA, LLC, and entering into an agreement to serve as fiscal agent for the State of New Mexico’s participation not to exceed $200,000 in the project.
